What Is FRP Storage Tank

The FRP storage tank is currently the leading industry standard sealing device on the market. Due to its lightweight, robust and feasible glass fiber design, fiber reinforced plastic tanks provide safe storage without the risk of corrosion or bacterial contamination.

Advantages of FRP storage tank:

(1) High strength

The density is between 1.5~2.0, only 1/4~1/5 of carbon steel, but the tensile strength is close to or even higher than that of carbon steel

(2) Good corrosion resistance

(3) Good electrical performance

(4) Environmental safety

(5) Light weight-easy to carry

(6) Smooth inner surface-lower sludge formation, lower cleaning cost

It is an excellent insulating material for manufacturing insulators.

Application of fiberglass storage tank

Storage media: inorganic acids, organic acids, bases and hydroxides, elements, gases and other inorganic compounds, alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, ethers, esters, hydrocarbons and petroleum products, halogen-containing organic compounds and Other organic compounds and other media.

Types of fiberglass tanks

FRP Pipe

The Yongchang-brand glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) pipe produced by our company can be designed and manufactured in various sizes and configurations according to customer requirements. We can produce pipes of any specification and pressure, and can also be made into composite pipes such as PVC/FRP, PP/FRP, PVDF/FRP, etc. according to the conditions of use. Our designers can calculate the hoop stress, axial stress and bending Poisson's ratio coefficient of the product according to your available space, chemical fluid requirements and applicable natural conditions, so as to give product selection, product thickness and layering. Detailed manufacturing process parameters. All the pipes we design comply with industry standards, such as ASTM d2996 filament wound "glass fiber" (glass fiber reinforced thermosetting resin) pipe standard specification filament wound pipe

1. What is the difference between FRP and GRP

GRP and FRP pipes (referred to as GRP and FRP) are interchangeable in the fiberglass pipe industry. FRP is the abbreviation of fiber reinforced plastic, which is a term commonly used in the United States. GRP is a noun with the same meaning. But it is widely used in Europe and Asia and represents glass fiber reinforced plastic.

2. Advantages of FRP

(1) Good corrosion resistance

Most FRP pipes with resins, glass fiber reinforced materials, and composite structures are considered suitable for chemical applications and provide consistent corrosion resistance. There are still some extreme chemical services, special structures and alternative resins should be considered.

(2) Various applications can be customized

In standard fiberglass pipes, customized pipes, special manifold systems, pipes or chimneys, Yongchang provides long-term corrosion solutions and the absolute maximum product life.

(3) Lightweight (20% of steel, 10% of concrete)

(4) Excellent self-weight strength (stronger than steel on the basis of equal weight)

The excellent toughness of glass steel pipe makes it resistant to resin cracking and cracking when subjected to large design loads. In addition to high fatigue resistance, this toughness also provides a safety factor for impact damage during transportation and installation.

(5) Low friction coefficient (more than 25% higher than steel)

(6) Excellent dimensional stability

(7) Low thermal conductivity (saving insulation costs)

Resist the influence of sunlight and other weathering elements. If the fiberglass tube is external, it can be polished and resin coated or painted after years of weathering under particularly harsh conditions.

(8) Long-term maintenance costs are low

Three reasons to use fiber reinforced polymer (FRP)

When choosing building materials for infrastructure projects, there are some key factors to consider before making a decision. Engineers must ensure that the choices they make benefit the people in their organization (who will use the material) and the end users of the project.

One such material is a fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP), which is of great benefit to builders and users alike. Read more below to learn how this unique material works for you.

1.Production and installation time

When planning development designs for the overall infrastructure, it is important to consider the amount of time required not only for the entire project but also for each step along the way. Obviously, saving time saves money, but you certainly don't want to sacrifice quality for efficiency. FRP provides ideal balance, helping to save valuable production time, while still providing the necessary quality, strength and durability.

2.Weight

The weight of the FRP goes hand in hand with rapid installation. FRP is known for its light weight. In fact, it weighs eight times less than reinforced concrete, which means the FRP is less labour-intensive to use and install and requires less equipment. The material also requires less labor in the removal process.

3.Corrosion and maintenance

FRP has high durability and strength, as well as reliable corrosion resistance, long service life, and it can reduce the need for daily maintenance. By eliminating downtime for maintenance, not having to perform necessary maintenance and repairs can help save expensive labor and material costs and also prevent inconveniences to end users.

Moreover, the long-term cost of FRP is reduced because of its durability and corrosion resistance.

Although FRP does have a slightly higher price per square foot at initial installation, the material has many advantages in terms of long-term cost savings. FRP does not require expensive repair or reconstruction work because it imposes less pressure on infrastructure and is more durable than other materials. For example, Bridges and platforms made of materials such as reinforced concrete, steel or wood are often 15 to 20 years apart after initial installation, which requires extremely expensive repairs and even new investments before they can be rebuilt from scratch. However, fiberglass is durable and will not corrode for long, as many other building materials do.

In addition, there are some advantages of fiber reinforced polymer:

FPR is a low-cost, easy-to-install system that turns drywall or other surfaces into superwalls:

Strong scratch-resistant material

It can be easily cleaned using regular cleaners, high-pressure cleaners or even steam

Light and flexible panel for easy installation

Glue or fasteners can be installed, or both

Maximum health protection

Improved chemical resistance

Use basic and technical installation of any variety of materials

High fall resistance and scratch resistance

Superior flexibility

It can be cheaper than other building materials

Helps prevent mold from growing and from rusting or corrosion

Apply to cover new plasterboard or old, damaged wall and ceiling surfaces
